Pinstripe Prospects: The Minor League Report.

J.B. Cox has been promoted to AAA (where he joins David Robertson). Mark Melancon has been promoted to Trenton. As the bullpen guys come up, someone will take Joba’s place, thus enabling him to go to the rotation. Now the chips and arms must fall as they may. Too bad it’s HITTING the Yanks need right now.

AAA: SWB loses 5-3. Jeff Marquez (who I think needs to go back to Trenton) goes 7, gives up the five runs. (2-5, 6.50). Cox does get in, and pitches a scoreless inning. Chris Stewart had 2 hits.

AA: McCutchen was supposed to go on Sunday, but it was rained out. Yesterday was an off day. Thus his schedule was really thrown out of whack. 3 R in 4 IP. 6 hits, 5 walks, 3 K. 4-3, 2.52. Trenton lost 7-1 and only got four hits, two by Tabata (.231).

A: Tampa won 3-1. Ryan Pope (4-2, 2.13) 6 IP, 1 R, 4 H. Kevin Whelan gets in his first game of the year, 2 scoreless IP. Seth Fortenberry HR, Kyle “Cap” Anson 2 hits and an RBI.

A: Charleston lost 3-2 in 11. Noel Castillo gave up 2 R in 5 IP. Chace Vacek took the loss. Montero 2 hits, double, RBI. .323 with 30 RBI.
