Looks like Jorge will be out, but at least it’s not for the whole year. ESPN has an initial report:

Good news on another front as Pete Abraham reports that Harlan Chamberlain is home from the hospital. Get well soon, Harlan.
Fatso and Fruit Loops are talking trades for the Yanks, apparently in reaction to Hughes and Kennedy not performing so far. Way to give up on them before May. Way to not even give others (Horne once off DL, McCutchen in AA, etc.) a chance. Sheesh. Talk about jumping the gun. Fans already are on the make a trade bandwagon. Double sheesh. Let’s get to Memorial Day already. People knock the Yanks for not developing talent, then want that talent to perform within 25 games or else they want to make a trade. Show some patience, will ya?
More on Posada, from Pete Abraham (JoPo? Something tells me if he called Jorge that, he’d have spike marks on his butt):
No official word yet on Jorge Posada. But word is that his shoulder will not need surgery, only a long period of rest and rehab. I would suspect the Yankees will send him to get another opinion or two. Might as well. But the early news is good.
How long will JoPo be out? That’s the question. The guess is a month based on what I’m hearing. The Yankees probably should have put Posada on the disabled list earlier this month but he wanted to tough it out and keep playing.
I don’t know if the month means back with the Yanks in a month, or start rehab in a month. It’s his throwing shoulder. The Yanks are usually very conservative when it comes to injuries. I say if rest and rehab are necessary, and no surgery, then give him a whole month to heal. That takes us to Memorial Day. After that, two weeks to get the stroke back and make sure the throwing arm is fine. So I would say mid-June.
