I watching the Olympics tonight and see a bobsled run.
How would you like to be the TV director?
For the bobsled is going, what… 80 MPH?
So I counted the cameras and cuts from the start of the run to the bottom. The bobsled ran the course in 53.19 seconds.
…and in that time, I counted 25 or 26 cuts. 25 or 26 different cameras to follow the sled down the course, with the distance, turns, etc.
Think about that. Basically every 2 seconds, the director had to shout cut to 2, cut to 3, cut to 4, etc.
Amazing that they could keep up.
