The Sommer Frieze

Before there was Summerall and Madden, there was Summerall and Brookshier.

Both became broadcasters after their football careers, and Summerall and Brookshier were fabulous back in the late 1960s and throughout the 1970s.

Brookshier died last night at the age of 78 from cancer.

He was a DB for the Eagles 1953, 1956-1961. He had to retire at the age of 30 when he broke a leg making a tackle. His #40 was retired by the Eagles and he was a member of the 1960 Eagles NFL champions.
