As said on LoHud’s blog, cross Jason Marquis off the Christmas list of Brian Cashman.
Cash…looking for pitching (read: 4th starter) won’t have Marquis on the list of Santa’s goodies due to Marquis signing a two-year deal with the Nats (worth $15M) earlier today.
I read where each of Marquis’ previous teams made the postseason. No offense to the Nats or Marquis, but I’d be willing to bet that the streak ends in 2010.
According to Lohud, Montero is scheduled to begin 2010 at AAA! I cannot wait. The Phils AAA franchise is at Lehigh Valley (20 minutes from my home) and the Yankees in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre about a 75 minute drive. I DO plan on checking out the Yanks #1 prospect often. I am sure that regular reader Joe P. plans on the same.

I’ll be at two if not more of SWB’s games at Lehigh Valley (Coca Cola Park) this coming summer and will try to make it to PNC Field in Moosic at least once or twice as well. I should get to see Montero.
