My alma mater, Penn State #11, will take on #13 LSU in the Capital One Bowl on New Year’s Day.
I remember one time the Lions took on LSU…1/1/74 in the Orange Bowl. Heisman Trophy winner John Cappelletti was sick or something and gained just 50 yards on 26 carries. PSU capped an undefeated season by beating LSU 16-9, but only wound up 5th in the polls.
Update: That happens to be the only time PSU faced LSU.
TCU, Cincy and Boise State probably know how it feels.
