I heard an ESPN radio guy talking about the NL CYA voting before going to a commercial. He mentioned Carpenter and Lincecum and went into the commercial. Excuse me? Aren’t we forgetting someone? Wainwright?

Here is a comparison of the three major candidates. Who would you choose?

Wainwright 19-8, 2.63; Whip 1.210; 212 K/233 IP
Carpenter 17-4, 2.24    Whip 1.007; 144 K in 192 2/3 ip
Lincecum 15-7, 2.48    WHIP 1.047; 261 K in 225 1/3 IP

Note what and where I bolded; A split. This will be very interesting vote.

But that is for Thursday.

As for tomorrow (Wed.), the AL and NL managers of the Year will be announced. I wonder where Girardi will end up. Many will say that he “was expected to win 103, what with the additions of CC, AJ and Teixeira and the rest of the payroll”. The expectations may cost him the award.

But let’s remember…expectations aren’t always followed up by reality—look at the Mets.

I got a nice message from my sis in CA the other day. It seems like she gets to see a certain broadcaster just about weekly since he attends her church. Think LONG time broadcaster, a legend, initials V.S. (hint hint).
