There is talk of whether CC and/or AJ will be coming back on 3 days rest for Games 4 or 5. Looking at the weather forecast for Philadelphia this weekend, it may turn out not to be an issue.
There is rain in the forecast from 4 pm Saturday afternoon until 2 am Sunday morning. Showers 4-10, Rain 10-midnight, Showers midnight until 2.
Should Game 3 be postponed a day, Andy could go Sunday night and then CC can go on normal rest in Game 4. AJ could go in Game 5 on normal rest. As for 6 and 7…. the question would be ”will there still be an off day between Games 5 and 6?” Given the closeness of NY to Philadelphia, the off-day could be scrapped. If scrapped, Gaudin still must go. If not scrapped and everything is pushed back a day, Andy on 3 days rest in Game 6 and CC on 3 days rest in 7 (with AJ on 2 days rest on standby for an inning or two?) become possibilities.

Last night, we saw a Two become a One. AJ was fabulous, pitching like an ace. It’s obviously not the first time we saw something like this. We can go back to 1968, when it was not 31 game winner Denny McLain who was the ace in the WS for the Tigers, but rather Mickey Lolich, who won three games. We can go back to 1957, when Lew Burdette was the won who won three games for the Milwaukee Braves, not Warren Spahn. 1962 saw Ralph Terry be the WS MVP, not Whitey Ford. The Amazing Mets of 1969 got two wins from Jerry Koosman; Ace Tom Seaver was 1-1.

How about the Celtics? 3-0, not allowing 80 points a game, beating Cleveland to start the year, and adding a strong bench with Wallace, Daniels and Williams this off-season. They man-handled the Bulls last night.
