Rain delay. If they play, here is the lineup. As you might expect, a lot of regulars got the day off. Expect the regulars to get semi-days off from here on in….just enough action to keep them fresh…and just enough off-days to give them some well-deserved rest.

YANKEES (100-56)

Gardner CF
Cabrera LF
Cano 2B
Posada DH
Hinske 3B
Duncan RF
Miranda 1B
Cervelli C
Pena SS

Pitching: RHP Chad Gaudin (1-0, 3.71).

As far as individual achievements go, there isn’t that many. Offensively, no one is say, between .295-.305 where you are trying to get to or maintain a .300 average.

Teixeira does need one HR to tie Carlos Pena for the league lead and two to pass him and win the AL HR title. Damon needs one HR for a career high.

Matsui is 2nd on the team with 90 RBI, so other than Teix, no one will reach 100 (unless Godzilla has one MONSTER week). Great balance on the team though. Matsui and A-Rod need 2 HR for 30, Swisher needs 3.

Pitching-wise, CC has one shot for #20. Mo at 1.82 seeks to keep his ERA under 2.00 for what would be the 9th time in his career. Hughes tries to keep his ERA under 3.00 (remarkable considering it was 5.45 when he went to the bullpen). Joba tries to get win #10.

Too bad about Chad Pennington. Out for the year, and a third shoulder surgery looms.
