A lot depends on how he pitches. After all, if he is knocked out in the first, the Joba rules, version ? won’t apply anymore.
But how long will Joba go today…even if he does well? Girardi has stated that in essence, they are “starting spring training over” with him. Meaning slowly building him up over the next month so that the innings count isn’t surpassed that that come the playoffs he can go full bore.
Which means what as for today? 3 innings? 4? A pitch count of 60?
I’ll be at work and will have to check the final over my lunch break.
