Ok, I’m able to add a report.

From Pete Abraham:

Mike Ashmore of Thunder Thoughts wrote to tell me that Christian Garcia is done for the season with elbow surgery. It seems like his career will be short-circuited by injuries. And Jason Johnson is with Trenton as he recovers from a torn labrum.

Also heard that J.B. Cox quit baseball after being demoted to Trenton.

 Mike also reports that LHP Jeremy Bleich is on his way to Trenton.

If you know the Mickey Mantle story of what happened when Mickey was sent down, maybe J. B. needs a good dose of Mutt Mantle’s ghost.

AAA: SWB lost 6-2. Igawa (6-3, 3.80) 2 R in 6 IP. Zach Kroenke gave up 4 unearned runs in 2 IP. Austin Jackson (.320-2-28) a solo HR.

AA: Trenton lost 8-3. Jesus Montero got his first AA HR as well as a single (.288-1-8 since his promotion). Reegie Corona solo HR.

A+:  DH. Tampa lost Game 1 5-4. Humberto Sanchez 1 IP, 1 R given up. 3 hits, 1 RBI for Dan Brewer. Eric Fryer 2 hits. Ryan Zink (4-7, 4.41) 4 R in 6 IP.

Game 2:  Tampa wins 3-0 behind Lance Pendleton. No runs, 1 hit in 5 IP. (7-4, 2.95). Mitch Hilligoss 2 hits, double, rbi.

A-: Charleston won 9-2. David Phelps 2 r in 6 ip (8-2, 3.03). Each of the top four hitters in the lineup had 3 hits. 4 RBI for Ray Kruml. HR and 2 RBI for Corban Joseph.

As for the big game last night, Wang wasn’t super but considering the year he’s had, he’ll take the W and the 2 R in 5 1/3.  

Yankees have an off-day today.
