Good game for the Lehigh Valley Yankee Fan Club to catch. Pettitte vs. Lowe. According to Pete Abraham, Cano is getting a day off (sore wrist) while Melky and Matsui are battling the flu.

I am going to try to update the blog over the next few days. However I have just been notified of some sad news that affects me. I hope you understand. I will try to update when I can. A passing in my extended family.

YANKEES (39-32)
Jeter SS
Damon LF
Teixeira 1B
Rodriguez 3B
Posada C
Swisher RF
Gardner CF
Ransom 2B
Pettitte LHP

Pitching: LHP Andy Pettitte (7-3, 4.26).

Recap: A-Rod woke up with HR #563*, tying Mr. October on the all-time list. 3 hits and 4 RBI for him. Damon had a bases-loaded triple, 3 hits and 4 RBI. Jeter had 4 hits and scored 4 runs. Even Cody Ransom had 2 hits and 2 rbi.

You’d think Pettitte and Lowe would be a pitcher’s duel and you’d be wrong. 18 runs in the game, 29 hits, 25 LOB between the teams. Both starters could not last 4 innings. Aceves (5-1, 2.16) got the win in relief. Mo had to get the last out for save #499. Too bad the LVYFC just missed #500.

Robertson gave up a HR in the 9th. Just like the other night, it was to McCann.

Who’d have thought Jeter (35 tomorrow) would have 17 SB right now, when we are not even at the halfway point of the season? Gardner, yes. Jeter? No.
