Beware, Atlanta. Friends of mine from the Lehigh Valley Yankee Fan Club will be at the game tonight and on Thursday night. There will be more “Yankees” in the Stadium than you think!
Pete Abraham provides tonight’s lineup, comments mine:
YANKEES (38-31, 2nd 4 gb of Boston,
but just one up on Toronto, 2 on Tampa)OPS+ 115, ERA+ 95
Jeter SS .301-9-30-14/15-115
Swisher RF .245-12-36-0/0-132
Teixeira 1B .286-20*-56*-0/0-155*
Rodriguez 3B .213-9-28-2/2-117 (overdue; is this all there is until the hip heals better?)
Cano 2B .305*-12-42-3/5-116
Posada C .280-9-29-1/1-132 (considering his age–37–and the fact he missed a few weeks, not bad at all)
Cabrera LF .282-7-28-4/6-103
Gardner CF .284-2-11-15*/17*-101 (got it over 100!)
Wang RHP 0 for 11 in his career. Think he is under strict orders tonight?Pitching: RHP Chien-Ming Wang (0-5, 12.30). ERA+ 36.
Damon’s calf is still sore. Day-to-day.
We only hope that Wang can get it going.

I sure would like to see the Posada-Melky part of the lineup step it up a bit, in addition to A-Rod. They’ve not been awful, but have lagged for a couple weeks. I know it’s tough with a pitcher in the lineup, but even at home recently the Yanks have not turned the lineup over nearly as often as they should.
I hope your friends enjoy the game.
