10:40 a.m. I like Tom Brady, and it is tough not to root for a guy named Bruschi, but the Boor in the Hoodie may make me do something I thought impossible. Should it be a Cowboys-Pats Super Bowl, I may have to hold my nose and root for the Cowboys. I just hope T.O. doesn’t catch a pass. Ugh. I’d hope that Jerry Jones is chained to a chair in the owner’s box where he belongs. But between Wade Phillips and the Boor in the Hoodie who ran it up on old, nice, Hall of Famer but shouldn’t have come back Joe Gibbs, it’s no contest. I would join my two Cowboy-loving brothers (I don’t know what went wrong there…love them anyway) in rooting against the soon-to-be-legend. Of course, what I’d really love is for my own team (the Steelers) to knock off the undefeated Pats in the AFC title game or prior playoff game.
As a Celtic fan (I know, how can you root for the Yanks and Celtics? I consider myself an endangered species under federal protection) it’s been a long time since I saw them resemble what they used to be under Cousy, Russell, Cowens, Havlicek, Bird and McHale. Maybe the leprechaun’s name is really Rip Van McWinkle–and he is awakening after a 20 year slumber.
