I believe Andy when he says he only used it twice. I am glad he has come clean and has done so without too much delay. He may still face a punishment. Were I to guess, I would say a 15-game suspension. That’s just a guess. I can’t read Bud Selig’s mind (and believe me, there are times I don’t want to). I’m still disappointed in Andy, but forgive him. To his credit, he didn’t deny, didn’t point fingers. He accepted the blame. I think having done that, people may be more willing to forgive him. As for forgetting, that’s a different story. With 201 wins as of now, the HOF for Pettitte probably wasn’t going to happen. The 3.83 ERA is a bit high. No CYAs but two 20-win seasons, and a lot of postseason games (14-9, 3.96). Where I to guess, he probably would have received 30-40% of the vote where 75% puts you in. As I stated, a nice career, not quite Hall-worthy. Even though it was (as he says) only two occurences, you can bet that those two occurences will hamper whatever Hall chance he had.
MLB is reporting that the Santana/Yanks talks are heating up again.
