The Yanks are back home and going against the Angels. It’ll be interesting to see if the Stadium plays the same as it did a few weeks ago—meaning like a bandbox.
A-Rod is back in the news. Steroids in high school? With the Yanks? Tipping pitches? God only knows what is in the Roberts book—and just at the time Alex is about to come back. The Yanks can use his bat (he went 1 for 6 with a HR and a couple walks in a controlled intrasquad game today) but along with that comes the circus—again.
Tonight’s lineup, from Pete Abraham (notes mine):
YANKEES (11-10)
Jeter SS
Damon LF (I saw a throw back to the infield he made last night. Extremely weak. That shoulder must be hurting. Expect more of Gardner as D replacement for Johnny late in games)
Teixeira 1B (the slow starter proves it. .197)
Matsui DH
Cano 2B
Posada C
Swisher RF (Good thing he wasn’t dealt what with Nady out. 7 HR leads team).
Cabrera CF (sticking with the hot hand)
Pena 3B (sticking with the D)Pitching: RHP A.J. Burnett (2-0, 5.47).
Game 6 of Celts-Bulls tonight, too…now to figure out what horse to bet on in the Derby on Saturday…
Lots of rain in the forecast for the East this weekend.
