When it comes to free agents, we know how Tom feels.
As the Hot Stove League progresses, and we wonder who will wind up where, we find out the truth in the Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers song. After all, the Waiting is the Hardest Part.
K-Rod to Mets? C.C. to Yanks? Teix back to the Angels? What little (now insignificant, but later proved huge) moves will be made?
Times like these make one wish they had a crystal ball to foresee where everyone goes.
There is an interesting article by Joel Sherman today on the priorities of some teams and who may have to be “backup” plans, and the article is especially interesting in Sherman’s opinions on which teams it is that may thwart the hopes of NY fans.
If the polls come out today and Texas Tech is above Penn State, I won’t be happy. I’ll grant that Texas Tech has a tougher schedule, but after that embarrassment last evening….Penn State lost a game by one point on a last second FG. Texas Tech was embarrassed (one yard away from giving up 72 points) on national TV 65-21, and the score (last second TD by Tech) wasn’t even THAT close. Remember how close Tech is to TWO losses…because they needed a last second TD to beat Texas—after blowing a sizeable lead in THAT game.
Celtics have me happy. 12-2 to start the year.
Our friends Ty and his Uncle Joe can’t be happy. Not after ND lost to Syracuse. Irony upon ironies, who throws the winning TD pass? ND basketball (and NBA) legend Adrian Dantley’s son.
Happy b/day to Ty today, by the way.
It’s too bad PSU won’t play Oregon in the Rose Bowl like they did fourteen years ago. That day, as a symbolic gesture, I had DUCK for dinner before the game. Oregon State? No Beaver for me, and let’s not even discuss USC, shall we?
As for UCLA, bear meat does taste good. Been there, done that.
No Steelers today, so I’ll be watching off and on and chillin’.
