Sing the Song, Ethel.
As I type, I don’t know if Texas Tech will be staying #2 with a win over Oklahoma or not. I do know one thing. One stinking point has kept Penn State (my alma mater) from an undefeated regular season. Ouch. Maybe they would have been kept out of the BCS title game anyway by having a #3 rating. Maybe not. We’ll find out with the T.T/OK result. But still. One point.
But Rose-Bowl bound they are. I have family out near L.A., so it’ll be nice to have a little bit of “home” going out their way.
But first, it’s hip replacement surgery for JoePa, who is now less than a month from his 82nd birthday. For Penn State, today marked the football team’s 800th career win.
Oregon St. (who got whipped in September by PSU) or USC? Craig James on ABC stated what I think most college football fans want. He wants PSU/USC. Paterno vs. Pete Carroll. Two storied college football traditions. I remember PSU’s 1981 season. A year before the 1982 National Championship. PSU beat USC in the Fiesta Bowl and held Marcus Allen to 85 yards rushing.
11/22 means so much to many people. 45 years ago today, a couple of things happened. First and foremost was assassination of President Kennedy.

45 years ago today.
Also, 45 years ago today, this album was released:

The same cover shot was used for “Meet The Beatles” in the USA, which had a different release date.
Five years later, on 11/22/68, the Beatles released another LP. Actually, a double-LP:

If you can’t see it, it’s the White Album. Today marks 40 years. Birthday, indeed.
If you listen to the two albums back to back, and look at the pictures of John, Paul, George and Ringo….what a difference five years made.
Eight years ago today, I was gifted with another niece. Happy b/day, Gabby! I call her “Doubles” sometimes. After all, with a birthdate of 11/22/00, how could I not?
Update: If only. Does that Iowa loss hurt now or what? As I type this, it’s the middle of the 3rd quarter and Oklahoma is putting a whupping on Texas Tech. 52-7.

That’s great (and funny), Mike. I can only imagine that she was like the character she played in the movie “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.” She was great in that film.
